چکیده
In this study, the Bohart and Adams’ model taking into account bed depth, and influent dye concentration was studied to exhibit adsorption process of textile dyes (Basic Blue 41 – BB41 and Reactive Black 5 – RB5) in glass columns using tree barks (Eucalyptus camaldulensis). Adsorption capacity coefficient values are determined using the Bohart and Adams’ bed depth service model. The model indicated that adsorption properties of E. camaldulensis barks conform for tertiary treatment for textile BB41 and RB5 containing wastewaters. An artificial neural network (ANN) based model for determining dye adsorption capability of bed system is also developed. The breakthrough curves of adsorption are also exhibited by this model. Results showed that ANN model could describe present system. Results showed that with the increases of bed height, and the decreases of influent dye concentrations, the breakthrough time was

متن کاملAdsorption of Fe (II) from Aqueous Phase by Chitosan: Application of Physical Models and Artificial Neural Network for Prediction of Breakthrough
Removal of Fe (II) from aqueous media was investigated using chitosan as the adsorbent in both batch and continuous systems. Batch experiments were carried out at initial concentration range of 10-50 mg/L and temperature range of 20–40˚C. In batch experiments, maximum adsorption capacity of 28.7 mg/g and removal efficiency of 93% were obtained. Adsorption equilibrium data were well-fitted with ...
متن کاملFIXED-BED ADSORPTION OF CONGO RED ONTO TEA WASTE IN THE PRESENCE OF Fe2O3 NANOPARTICLES: AN EXPERIMENTAL AND MODELING STUDY
In this study, tea waste (TW) is employed for the removal of Congo red (CR) from aqueous solutions in a fixed-bed column at 30 °C. The breakthrough curves of the adsorption process of CR on TW at three different flow rates are determined. The results revealed that the breakthrough curves were dependent on flow rates in a manner in which a lower flow rate was in favor of the CR adsorption in the...

متن کاملFixed Bed Column Modeling of Cd(II) Adsorption on Bone Char Using Backward Bayesian Multiple Linear Regression
In this work, the backward Bayesian multiple linear regression (BBMLR) as a new approach is presented to predict the adsorption efficiency (AE) of Cd(II) ions by ostrich bone char (OBC) in the fixed bed adsorption with four operational variables consisting of pH (2-9), inlet Cd(II) concentration (Co= 25-100 mg/L), bed depth (h= 3-9 cm) and feed flow rate (Q= 0.5-30 mL/min). The performance of t...
